For the last ten years I’ve loved and led beside my partner in our business together — which at times led to conflict, resentment, competition, and the sense that we were growing the business but losing each other. Our family dynamic was challenging, stressful and it felt like the business was taking over every part of our lives!Â
I’ve had the late-night conversations that turned into arguments, the mornings where work came before connection, wondering who is really "in charge", and the heavy feeling of wondering if we could really make it work, and even if the business was successful, was it all worth it?Â
What I’ve learned is this: the “normal way” doesn’t work when you’re building a life and business together. Roles blur. Rules break. Conflict happens. And without clarity, the very thing you’re creating can start to feel like your enemy.Â
